FREESTYLE POETESS

EVASHNI LINDA REDDY

“I freestyle movement. I freestyle words. I tune into the movement of the moment. I let the Spirit of the Field move me to express and be witnessed”

Words are a sentient presence, a gift of the Divine Mystery. I tune into the realm of their sacred presence basking in its sovereignty. I feel its movement in my whole being, rising through my voice and shape shifting my body with its rhythmic dream as I let it be and breathe. I share the happenings of my process with those witnessing to stay connected to the Mystery.

Tuned in deep, I freestyle words and movement that are needed to be heard and seen. To bring awareness to something unknown, often soulfully beautiful,  that exists in the dark. An embodied poetic voice. A pure light of the soul expressed with heart.

It was like you were pulling words from the sky. Like the words were bursting through your body. It was magic! ~ audience member

A snippet of a poetic freestyle performance at a Ritual evening I featured in with other artists.

WARNING: there is flashing light.

This gift of language and expression in the moment is a marvellous mystery to me. To surrender deep, trusting in being met in every moment of the way the movement and word wants to be shared. One for which I feel blessed to experience. It is an ongoing deep reverence and love I have - to have found this in this lifetime and let this deep joy ride its energy through me - a vessel for a deep realm. It feels very mythical.

I have performed this way at festivals, ritual spaces, emceeing, as a bard at events, storytelling, open mic events, facilitating/constellating process work, artistically performing inanimate objects to sense its being - and of course when I run into a stranger and just go up to them and freestyle a poem for them. I have performed to groups of varying size from 2 to 800.

Embodying words and movement this way - teaches me to be present, awake and alive to the moment.
